Online ‘ice’ resource for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
Cracks in the Ice has launched the first national website providing trusted, evidence-based, and up-to-date resources about crystal methamphetamine for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
The website includes information for people who use ‘ice’, their families and friends, health workers and community groups. Its development was led by an expert advisory group including Aboriginal elders, researchers, and health workers together with input from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members from across Australia.
NDRI researchers, including Professor Steve Allsop and Dr Nyanda McBride, are both on the expert advisory committee for the Cracks in the Ice project, and both researchers were part of the original Commonwealth-funded Illicit Drug Education project that has resulted in this and other extended projects.
