NDRI 2021 Webinar Series tackles diverse topics
Two diverse topics around alcohol and other drug policy will feature in coming weeks as part of the 2021 NDRI Webinar Series: preventing opioid overdose, and supporting young Aboriginal women.
NDRI webinars are held on the first Wednesday of each month. The series presents new research from the Institute, but is also a forum for other interesting national and international research from the AOD sector.
Held during National Reconciliation Week, NDRI’s June webinar will focus on the ‘YAWG’ website. Funded by Healthway and conducted in collaboration with Wungening Aboriginal Corporation, the ‘Fighting, Alcohol and Offending: Interventions Targeting Aboriginal Girls’ project investigated the experiences of young Aboriginal women and girls around fighting, alcohol and offending to develop a resource that helped service providers better support these young women.
In July, Professor Paul Dietze will present his first webinar as Head of NDRI’s Melbourne Office, outlining new data on opioid overdose incidence and findings from evaluations of two key interventions: supervised injecting rooms and take-home naloxone.
