Impact of OAT on hospitalisations – NDRI webinar series
NDRI Melbourne’s Samantha College-Frisby presented NDRI’s July webinar, sharing findings from studies examining the impact of opioid agonist treatment (OAT) on hospitalisations for injecting-related diseases and self-harm, and on suicide mortality. OAT engagement protects against overdose mortality, blood borne virus transmission, and other harms that implicate people with opioid use disorder.
Dr Colledge-Frisby recently joined NDRI Melbourne after competing her PhD at NDARC in early 2022. Her thesis expanded our understanding of harms that contribute to morbidity among people who inject drugs.
