Update on the Global Addiction Academy Project (GAaP)
November 2014
The National Centre for Education and Training on Addiction (NCETA) continues to collaborate with Middlesex University and other international partners on the development of the Global Addiction Academy Project (GAaP). GAap has five focus areas: practice, education, research, workforce, and lived experience.
It’s vision is to:
- Raise the profile of addiction internationally as a health and social care issue
- Provide an online knowledge hub and best practice platform
- Provide a global online classroom
- Bring addiction policy, clinical, education and academia together
- Raise the profile of addiction issues in other areas of health and social care education.
A recent initiative has been the establishment of a workforce development discussion page inviting members of the GAaP to provide examples of current workforce development programs in their respective countries.
