A new systematic review updating approaches to preventing and managing harms among people who inject drugs (PWID) was published in The Lancet Global Health.

Authored by a team of Australian and UK researchers, with NDRI Research Fellow Dr Sam Colledge-Frisby as lead author, the review updated estimates from 2017 research examining global coverage of harm reduction services that target PWID, including needle and syringe exchange programs, opioid agonist treatment, take-home naloxone programs, supervised consumption facilities, and drug checking services.
