PhD scholarship available with NCETA

November 2023

NCETA are seeking an outstanding candidate for a PhD scholarship to undertake a program of research within a broader NHMRC Ideas Grant entitled: Developing and applying a world-first alcohol market monitoring system.

The overall project aim is to develop a world-first comprehensive alcohol market monitoring, analysis and reporting system capturing product data and on-pack promotion. Within this project, the PhD student will explore the trade-offs drinkers make between different alcohol product attributes (eg a ‘low sugar’ claim, % alcohol by volume, health warning labels) when making alcohol purchase and consumption decisions, and model the implications of these trade-offs for the potential health impacts of alternative regulatory options for alcohol product labelling.

This PhD scholarship will be based at NCETA, Flinders University, Bedford Park, South Australia with Principal Supervisor Prof Jacqueline Bowden.
