NCETA Director…x 2…publish in the Medical Journal of Australia

June 2023

NCETA Director, Jacquie Bowden and former Director, Ann Roche, have joined forces to highlight an often neglected cohort in the research around alcohol consumption and increased cancer risk. The editorial titled ‘Women, alcohol, and breast cancer: opportunities for promoting better health and reducing risk’ was published in the Medical Journal of Australia. A collaboration between Turning Point, Monash University and Vic Health, the paper highlights a recent promising and scalable intervention where women were shown alcohol and breast cancer messaging after their appointments at BreastScreen. The intervention was found to increase awareness of the important link between alcohol consumption and breast cancer. You can find the article in the Medical Journal of Australia.
