Registration now open for the 2017 NDARC Annual Research Symposium

Registration is now open for the 2017 National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre Annual Symposium, Changing the Game: 30 Years of Drug and Alcohol Research.

Date: Tuesday, 3 October and Wednesday, 4 October 2017
Venue: John Niland Scientia Conference and Events Centre at UNSW Sydney

To celebrate NDARC’s 30th anniversary this year’s event will have a very special program. Over two days, NDARC speakers and external keynotes will look at the changes that have occurred in the field since the Centre opened and present cutting edge research in treatment, prevention, epidemiology and policy.

The external keynotes in 2017 are:

Professor Sir John Strang is head of the Addictions Department, Kings College London and is also Leader of the Clinical Academic Group of Kings Health Partners Academic Health Science Centre.

Beau Kilmer, PhD is a senior policy researcher at the RAND Corporation in the US, where he codirects the RAND Drug Policy Research Center.

Patricia Conrod is a clinical psychologist and Professor of Psychiatry at the Universite de Montreal, based at the CHU Sainte-Justine Mother and Child Hospital Centre in Montreal.

Paul Griffiths is the Scientific Director of the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) and served on the UK government’s expert panel on new psychoactive substances in 2014.

Steve Allsop is a Professor and Project Leader at the National Drug Research Institute (NDRI) at Curtin University, and NDRI’s former Director.
