There is a rare opportunity to lead one of Australia’s national research centres with an international recruitment process underway to appoint a new Director for the National Drug Research Institute (NDRI).

Well-known alcohol and other drugs (AOD) researcher Professor Simon Lenton has previously announced plans to step down as NDRI Director to focus on his research activity.

Applications are invited from world-class academics, sector leaders, or clinicians with a passion for understanding and responding to AOD use and related harms to provide leadership and foster excellence in research initiatives aimed at reducing harmful licit and illicit drug use and minimising adverse effects in Australian society.
The Director is based at NDRI’s head office at Curtin University in Perth, with responsibility to also manage NDRI’s office in Melbourne.
