NCETA presents its NT workforce development (WFD) assessment findings to the AADANT Conference

Following the release of its AOD WFD assessment for the Northern Territory (NT) Primary Health Network (PHN), NCETA was invited to present its findings to the AADANT 2018 Conference in Darwin.

The Conference, held on 12 and 13 April 2018, was attended by 90 AOD workers, managers and supervisors from across the NT and included presentations from local and interstate speakers.

Professor Ann Roche’s presentation “Top Down & Bottom Up” Strengthening the NT AOD Workforce provided conference attendees with information about:

  • Some of the unique geographic, demographic and socio-economic features of the NT and implications for service provision and WFD
  • Patterns and prevalence of AOD use in the NT and associated burden of disease
  • Key findings and recommended actions including examples of strategies from NCETA’s WFD assessment
  • The ongoing dissemination and implementation of the findings from the WFD assessment.
