Informing changes to Northern Territory liquor licensing regulations

May 2017

Professor Ann Roche, NCETA Director, was invited by the Northern Territory Government to facilitate a one-day workshop of key stakeholders to address ways in which proposed variations to the Northern Territory’s Liquor Act could be evaluated.

The workshop formed part of a larger review by the Northern Territory Government of its alcohol policies and legislation with a view to developing an evidence-based overarching alcohol harm reduction framework.

The invitation for Professor Roche to facilitate the workshop builds on NCETA’s previous comprehensive review of liquor licensing legislation in all 8 Australian jurisdictions and our input to the South Australian Government’s recent review of the Liquor Act, 1997.

The findings from NCETA’s review of liquor licensing legislation are available from the NCETA website.
