Australian Drug Summit

Professor Ann Roche (NCETA) and Professor Michael Farrell (NDARC) will be participating in the Australian Drug Summit to be held at Parliament House in Canberra on 2 March 2016. The Summit is being held on behalf of the Parliamentary Group on Drug Policy and Law Reform. It is intended that the Summit will provide an opportunity to debate approaches to drug policy in Australia including what has and has not been working and the possibilities for the future.

The Summit will comprise international and Australian representatives with expertise in health, NGO, justice, personal experience and academia. Recommendations for harm minimisation and drug law reform will be explored. The Summit is being facilitated by Professor Alison Ritter, and confirmed international speakers are Peter Dunne, NZ Minister for Health and Beau Kilmer, Co-director, RAND Drug Policy Research Centre, USA.
