APSAD Early Career Researcher Networking Event

August 2015

The Australasian Professional Society on Alcohol and other Drugs (APSAD) has established and Early Career Researchers (ECRs) Network with the aim of providing ECR and PhD students opportunities for networking, mentoring, collaboration, skills development and career planning. Last year for the first time a networking breakfast for ECR was held at the APSAD meeting and the event was a huge success. This year a networking evening event will be held. ECR are invited to register for free to attend this event (with APSAD registration) which will feature informal presentations from several of the APSAD Conference keynotes, along with leaders in the Alcohol and other Drug sector sharing their Top-Tips for career success.

There will also be plenty of opportunity for networking with peers, exchange ideas, gather information and explore opportunities.

The event will be held on Monday 9 November with regular updates posted to the APSAD Conference website as speakers details are finalised.

One of the confirmed speakers is last years Early Career Research Award Winner, Dr Sarah Larney.

Registration for this event will close on Tuesday 20 October, or when all spaces have been filled, whichever comes first.

Cost: Free

If you are not attending APSAD but would like to keep in touch with future opportunities for ECR join in the discussion on the APSAD Early Career Research Network LinkedIn group.

Don’t forget – nominations for all APSAD awards (including the Early Career Research and the *new* mentor award) close on September 4th.
